Let your story be heard speak out!

We want to hear your story

Every week, we will post personal mental health stories from anonymous people. We believe that sharing your story can help you get the help and support you need and also inspire others to speak out as well. We know we are not alone in this mental health journey so let’s share our story, so that others know that they are not alone

AWARENESS

Due to cultural barriers and the stigma associated with mental health in the Black community, many people feel like it is taboo to talk about mental health or even seek help. We believe that this Speak Out blog will give those individuals who are not ready to openly seek help, an opportunity to share their stories without revealing their identities. Moreover, the writing process itself has been shown to provide improvements in mental health status (Pennebaker & Chung, 2011).
